I was reflecting this week as Easter approaches this weekend. A interesting thought crossed my mind. The message of Easter is that Christ loves us so much that he died for all of our sins.
He did not have to. He was not forced too. But he did. For all of us.
What hit my heart were Jesus’ words as he was being nailed up on the Cross. “”34Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34.” It shows how awesome Jesus is. I ask myself how many times have I been hurt by someone and I react in a very un-Jesus like way and hold grudges and do not forgive.
I get cut of in traffic and I yell. I have someone hurt me or doing some rude and I yell back at them. Neither of these things are near what Jesus went through. I want to have a more Jesus like way of forgiving others. I pray He will help me to live that out.
It just makes me realize how blessed I am to be loved by God who loves me no matter what. A God that gives up His only Son to save me.
